Roxanne Thalman is one of the hardest-working council members, focused on serving the people of her district. During her first term, she has focused on improving our streets, decreasing crime and keeping taxes low, just as she promised.
Roxanne is accessible and attentive to residents’ concerns. She has attended every single neighborhood meeting in her district since being elected and holds more town hall meetings than any other district.
She is a veteran, business consultant, and proud Arlington native. She is exactly who we need to work on the issues we face in Southeast Arlington.
Known around the community for her upbeat personality and ability to connect with others, Roxanne believes in bringing people together and working towards the greater good. Roxanne was born and raised right here in Southeast Arlington.
After 9/11, she joined the Air Force, serving as a Cryptologic Linguist and assisted in the development of Language Survival Kits that helped combat soldiers communicate in foreign conflict zones. The kits were essential to our combat soldiers, like Roxanne’s little brother, who served in Iraq.
After successful treatment for a traumatic injury, Roxanne came back here to her home and started a family. She has since made it her mission to improve the quality of life of her hometown by leading local nonprofits, volunteering with civic organizations and being an active member of her church. Roxanne answers the call whenever people are in need.
Today, as a successful consultant at General Motors Financial, Roxanne solves problems and improves the quality of life for employees. Her creative approach to problem-solving has resulted in her processes being adopted internationally. Her ability to streamline operations and cut waste that results in higher quality services and products is just what Arlington needs to do more with less while providing first class city services.
Roxanne is far and above the most qualified candidate and is ready to keep Arlington moving in the right direction.
Fixing Our Roads:
It’s time to get back to basics and fix our roads. The city has had a lot of success lately, but we can’t forget the fundamentals, such as maintaining and fixing our roads. Roxanne will fight every day so that our part of Arlington receives its fair share of resources to address our infrastructure needs.
The primary responsibility of the city is to keep our neighborhoods safe. Roxanne is raising her daughter here and knows we need crime-free neighborhoods for our families. Endorsed by the Arlington Police Association for her strong stance on fighting crime, Roxanne will work hand-in-hand with crime watch groups and our men and women in uniform to fight crime.
Economic Development = Jobs:
Roxanne understands how important it is for folks in our part of Arlington to have good jobs. Roxanne has the business experience we need to bring in new economic development and create better jobs for Southeast Arlington
Keep Taxes Low:
At GM Financial, Roxanne helps streamline processes within the company. Roxanne knows what it takes to cut waste, distribute resources to high-need areas, promote economic growth, and broaden the tax base so we can keep Arlington taxes low.
Support our Local Schools:
From Speer Elementary to Arlington High, Roxanne is a product of our local public schools. Being the first of her family to go college, she knows the importance of education and the positive impact it can have on a child’s life. Roxanne will be a strong advocate for our local schools.
